The BSJ Program
You begin your studies with the first of our distance learning courses, CRJ281 Principles of Criminal Justice. This course introduces you to your online classroom and also provides you an overview of criminal justice with a focus on group interaction skills and the management of individual and professional priorities. In CRJ281, you will also be introduced to corrections, criminology, policing, criminal procedure and crisis intervention. Over the course of the criminal justice program, students will participate in various field experiences related to their course work. The final course, CRJ469 Practicum in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security, will provide students an opportunity to further reflect on those experiences, conduct research, and then integrate their research with the knowledge they have gained through both their course work and their filed experiences.
Your BSJ distance learning courses will teach you a variety of skills from addiction theory and criminal law to court procedures, terrorism and counter-terrorism, and disaster preparedness and emergency leadership, all designed to give you the knowledge needed to take your career to the next level. The result is a carefully balanced program of practical instruction in ethics, criminal justice, and homeland security.
